  Affirm customers must: Be a resident of the U.S. (including U.S. territories) Be at least 18 years old (19 if you’re a ward of the state in Nebraska) Have a Social Security number Own a phone number that receives SMS and is registered to the United States or U.S. territories

• DOES AFFIRM PROVIDE A CREDIT CHECK?+

  Yes. Affirm runs a credit check when you apply for a loan, but no worries—that won’t impact your credit score. However, once you’re approved and start using Affirm to pay for your purchases, your loan and payments may affect your credit score. Pro tip: pay on time to keep your credit history in check.

• IS MY PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE WITH AFFIRM?+

  Yes. Protecting your personal information is trés important to Affirm—they encrypt sensitive data (like your SSN), and also layer on physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your info. Also, Affirm will never sell or rent your information to anyone. Love that.

• IF I RETURN AN AFFIRM PURCHASE, HOW DO REFUNDS WORK?+

  Refunds post to your Affirm account once we process your request. If you’ve already made loan payments or a down payment, Affirm issues a refund credit to the bank account or debit card that you used to make the payments. In the event that we issue a store credit instead of a refund, keep in mind: you’re still responsible for paying off your Affirm loan.
