Mod Metalwork: Founded in 1963 with the goal of producing “gallery-quality art for the masses,” Curtis Jeré is a compound nom-de-plume of artists Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels. In C. Jeré’s works, which range from representational to highly abstract, brass, copper, and other metals are sheared, crimped, torched, and welded before being coated with luminous patinas.
